About me

Antonio Gibotta, classe 88, fin da subito si avvicina e si appassiona alla fotografia, osservando da vicino l'opera del padre, un affermato fotografo professionista. Ben presto trasforma la sua passione in professione, accumulando un notevole bagaglio di esperienza nella realizzazione di lavori e reportage di viaggio, in Italia e soprattutto all'estero. Riesce a ritagliarsi una propria identità fotografica, che ovviamente risente della sua spiccata personalità. Al centro del suo obiettivo ci sono l'uomo e l'attualità delle tematiche sociali. Un nuovo interprete del reportage (e non solo…) e dei suoi sentimenti più profondi: la crudezza, la poesia, il sogno, la purezza di immagini che sanno arrivare direttamente al cuore. Si diploma in Maestro d’ Arte, sezione Arte della grafica pubblicitaria e della Fotografia, ha esposto in quasi 130 paesi . Nel 2010 Ottiene la GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD dalla Federation European Professional Photographer categoria reportage, in seguito ottiene tre qualifiche “QIP” “QEP” “Master QIP” e “MasterQEP”. Al prestigioso PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHY PARIS, si classifica 2° nella categoria “PRESS”. In Francia all' Eté des portraits 2012 si classifica Primo nella categoria Reportage. E’ sua la fotografia più votata dalla giuria del Fiof, al "Canada International Digital Photography Award" si classifica 3°. Nel 2013 Al FIOF viene eletto fotografo dell’anno, in contemporanea ottiene un Bronze Award al 'China International Photographic Art Exhibition’ , al MyWed, il contest di Matrimonio al quale hanno partecipato oltre 3000 fotografi da tutto il mondo si è classificato al 24° posto. Ai FIOF Awards Nikon Contest 2014 e 2015 viene eletto “FIOF - Wedding Photographer of The Year 2014” e Vincitore Assoluto FIIPA 2015. La piu importante azienda produttrice di carta fotografica Fine Art al mondo, la “Hahnemühle”, sceglie una sua foto per promuovere la nuova carta Matt fibre 200 grammi. Il National Geographic inserisce una sua fotografia nel libro “Stunning Photographs”. Nel 2016 ottiene il 3° posto al POY Picture of the year international in Colorado categoria Feature Picture Story e 1° Classificato al FIPA Italy International Photography Awards nella categoria Reportage, 1° nella categoria Reportage Movie Awards e 2° Classificato nella categoria Storia, sempre nel 2016 un suo racconto rientra tra le 21 storie multimediali esposte al 5th LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism in Germania, nel febbraio 2017 si classifica secondo al World Press Photo nella categoria people, al MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2017 ottiene il Jurors’ Picks, vince il PDN PHOTO ANNUAL e secondo classificato al SIPA AWARDS. Nel 2018 si classifica secondo al Sony Professional Competition nella categoria discovery , ed è tra i 5 finalisti del Finalsit at W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography.

 Antonio Gibotta, class 88, immediately approaches and is passionate about photography, closely observing the work of his father, a well-known professional photographer. He soon transformed his passion into a profession, accumulating a considerable amount of experience in the creation of works and travel reports, in Italy and especially abroad. He manages to carve out his own photographic identity, which obviously suffers from his strong personality. At the center of his objective are man and the relevance of social issues. A new interpreter of the reportage (and not only ...) and of his deepest feelings: crudity, poetry, dreams, the purity of images that can directly reach the heart. He graduated in Art Master, Art section of advertising graphics and photography, has exhibited in almost 130 countries. In 2010 he obtains the GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD from the Federation European Professional Photographer reportage category, then he obtains three qualifications "QIP" "QEP" "Master QIP" and "MasterQEP". At the prestigious PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHY PARIS, it ranks 2nd in the "PRESS" category. In France at the Eté des portraits 2012 he ranks first in the Reportage category. It is his most voted photo by the Fiof jury, at the "Canada International Digital Photography Award" he ranks 3rd. In 2013 Al FIOF is elected photographer of the year, at the same time obtains a Bronze Award at the 'China International Photographic Art Exhibition', at MyWed, the Marriage contest which was attended by over 3000 photographers from all over the world ranked 24th place. At the FIOF Awards Nikon Contest 2014 and 2015 he was elected "FIOF - Wedding Photographer of the Year 2014" and Absolute Winner FIIPA 2015. The most important Fine Art photographic company in the world, the "Hahnemühle", chooses one of his photos to promote the new Matt fiber paper 200 grams. National Geographic inserts a photograph of it in the book "Stunning Photographs". In 2016 he obtained the 3rd place in the Picture Picture category of the year international in Colorado category Feature Picture Story and 1st place in the FIPA Italy International Photography Awards in the Reportage category, 1st in the Reportage Movie Awards category and 2nd in the History category, always in 2016 one of his stories is among the 21 multimedia stories exhibited at the 5th LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism in Germany, in February 2017 he ranks second at the World Press Photo in the people category, at the MAGNUM PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2017 he gets the Jurors' Picks, he wins the PDN PHOTO ANNUAL and second place at SIPA AWARDS. In 2018 he ranks second to the Sony Professional Competition in the discovery category, and is among the five finalists of the Finalsit at W. Eugene Smith in Humanistic Photography.

2012: Beijing , Cina - "Tredici fotografi, tredici autori, sono gli occhi della cultura italiana. 8 Dicembre presso la Xinhua, Gallery di Beijing. Per la prima volta tredici fotografi italiani presenteranno in una originale collettiva, le loro opere presso la Xinhua Gallery di Beijing.
Saranno in tredici a rappresentare l'arte della fotografia italiana a Pechino, in Cina. Tredici, perché il numero fa la differenza e proprio di questa si parla: diverso è il modo che questi fotografi hanno di vedere il mondo attraverso l’obiettivo fotografico e diverso è anche il loro raggio d’azione e la loro attenta ricerca visuale. Ben 130 gli scatti che racchiudono nelle immagini la ricerca e la passione che li ha spinti a riunirsi sotto un unico scopo identificato nel porre a contatto la cultura cinese con quella italiana attraverso un meeting internazionale che avrà luogo l’8 dicembre presso la Xinhua Gallery nella storica sede dell'agenzia di stampa cinese, Xinhua News Agency.
